Comments:    My educational pathway was longer than most but satisfying when it was finally done. I started at Edmonds CC, then Shoreline CC, Seattle CC and finally UW. I took one year [1970] and trained as a Surgical Tech at Seattle CC on Broadway in Seattle. Sharon Emigh was in my class. It was nice to have a past classmate in the OR and going through training. The Surg Tech training gave me the means to finish school as I was paying for all my own schooling. I landed a great job at Swedish Medical Center and moved into doing a lot of Ortho. One of the main surgeons I worked with told me, after he retired that we did over 3000 total Hip replacements. My back suddenly got sore just thinking about that. I also met my wife, Georgia here and we married.
I got interested in so many fields of studies at UW. I'm afraid I lost focus as to what the end result needed to be. I was also trying to keep a student deferment and so studies became interesting for that reason alone. When the dust finally settled I ended up with a Zoology degree [and lots of extra credits I didn't need] and headed for Medical sales. I did sales and the Sales management with several companies. The travel burned me out when I found myself saying good night to my 2.5 yo from somewhere else besides home. I took my sales skills local and haven't given it another thought. Presently my sales career developed into a Referral practice fitting specialty knee braces for painful knees heading towards Total knee replacement. I'm in my 21st year now working for myself.
My interests are many. I'm a Duck/Upland bird hunter, fly fishing nut, Wine enthusiast, Golfer and traveler. I have been delighted to have a chance to give back and am currently leading a science project with the local HS I/B Biology class. We are conducting some studies on Wood Ducks in the Hazel Wolf Wetland on the Sammamish Plateau. I was delighted to get in contact with Willemina Kardong [Biology at SCHS 67/68] and we are getting together so I can show her the project with her grandkids. Something cool about that. See my comment in Message Forum #331.
It's been great connecting with classmates from so far back. It's mind warping to look at 3rd, 4th and 5th grade pictures and then reflect on all the years since. I look forward to seeing all at the reunion and getting caught up.

Here's a link to show you a current project I'm involved with. The HS teacher I speak of is Willemina Kardong.

School Story:    I have to admit that HS was advanced social networking. I was close to my football/wrestling/baseball guys and I think we all have a special bond. I will always regret leaving baseball in my senior year. I enjoyed meeting some great teachers like Mr. Flasik, Kardong, Boisen, Walt Dawson, Gil Inaba [wonderful role model and inspiring coach], Dick Stucky, Bill Cole and Les Smith. Many more for sure but they stand out to me.
Young Life was a big deal as well. Getting to the "Ernie" meetings and doing some camp outs helped solidify some long friendships.
I was, in some ways, closer to the class of 68, mainly because Bill Walton was one of my best friends since we were maybe 7 or 8 years old. I tagged along with him and participated in almost all that he did. Fun times...that's it in a nutshell.

Christmas 2008 in Sun Valley, ID.

One of my favorite things to do is fly Fish. This a nice Brown from Silver Creek near Picabo, Idaho. I look cold 'cuz it's about 9:30 pm in early June at 5000 ft.

With daughter Brooke in 2004.

In Provence in 2004 with Gordes in the distance. We rented a farm house with another family and lived like locals for 3 weeks. My French got to be really good!

Daughter Brooke is 3rd from left or 4th from right. University of Oregon Graduate 2009. Pictured with several Sorority sisters also Journalism/Communications Graduates.

Molly [14 yo] is rt. and Abby [3 yo] is lt. This shot is on the shores of a very icy Crab Creek near Beverly, WA. Molly, shortly after this picture, flushed up some pheasant that scared Abby to death.

I found this shot of the Late Gil Inaba from the SCHS 1964 reunion. One of my favorites and my wrestling coach for all 3 years. Always your biggest supporter and gave you every opportunity to do your best. I don't know the others but the picture of Knob's is great.

Also from the class of 64 is a nice shot of Lynn Waller and Earl Holland, a prior Administrator. The other 3 I'm afraid I can't place. Do you know them?
